Family of four luminaires designed for rotational molding technology explores its advantages. The family includes two basic shapes: Zeppelin and Balloon. These shapes are designed to be used in various applications, sizes and proportions. The inflatable shapes used for aeronautics, air and clouds are a sign of lightness and simplicity. It is a fine metaphor for suspended lighting fixtures appear floating inside interior spaces.
Continue readingThe nest-like installation is created for visitors to get into it, take a rest and find their inner peace. Lighting design starts from the human vision instead of glowing the installation itself. As an art installation which people can get inside, design team focuses on putting attention to create the illumination balance between the environment and the visitors' visual effect. Lighting fixture with proper light distribution and cut-off angle are integrated with the structure of the installation to build a glare-free ambiance which helps to sustain the tranquility of the Sun Moon Lake.
Continue readingBeijing Xuelian Liangdian Dongsi Creative Park is located Southwest of the intersection between Chaoyangmen Inner Street and Dongsi South Street next to the Dongsi subway lines, only 3.5 km away from the Tiananmen Square. Like other buildings within the 2nd ring road, its height is below 45 meters. It was a textile shopping mall called Sanyou that opened in 1985 and in 1989, it was Beijing’s largest with 1500 m². In March 2020, started a makeover to transform it into an office, small retail and cultural space with a unique theater, roof gardens and exhibition areas.

Continue readingIn c.1955 a Brazilian artist designed and made a lamp to illuminate a garden landscape designed by him. There is only a single register of the lamp: a small piece of journal with its photograph. That was the starting point to recreate the lamp and the light effect produced by it: from a single source of light, due to internal reflections and the different distances from the source to the white rings, a 4W LED lamp can create a range of shades, varying from dark gray to pure white.

The building concept is derived from the Folding Fan in Chinese opera, which could express an elegant appearance while showing the unique temperament of Chinese culture. The lighting design strategy is based on the concept, which has been proposed to express the shape and texture of the facade, meanwhile it also led the lighting principle to the interior.
