Umbu is a brazilian desk lamp, an adjustable direct lighting. The movement is continuous and soft. It have a triple articulation: the stem turn to both sides and adjusts the degree of inclination. The reflector has a diverse set of movements. The design value natural materials and handcraft. It uses brass, metal, Brazilian solid wood and granite stone. The experience is complet, touching the solid wood reflector is smooth.
Continue readingBelieving that it is possible to grow and differentiate organic forms in nature without disturbing their structure and expression by coincidences, and that human beings have an instinctive affinity for natural forms, Yılmaz Dogan said that while designing Thorn, he wanted to reflect growth with forms that emulate nature without any dimension limitation in illumination. Thorn, which is a source of inspiration for a natural branch of Thorn; grows in a random structure and forms natural, meets different needs and has no size limit as a good lighting design.

For this client, it's a new start where the architect and interior designers created lines and curves that reflect the identity of the client and spread around and within the 19 storey 164,779 m2 tower A and 6 storey 72,268 m2 tower B. Lighting welcomes guests to experience both a focus on the retail products and a revelation of all the key elements that makes this building unique.
Continue readingYet small with its two entrances and three distinct layers of arches that differ by depth, height and width, the Tianjin Vanke Jade Avenue Sales Center, located in the Qingxi district of Tianjin, China, was treated, from a lighting point of view, as a key project by taking advantage of the waterscape to virtually double its volume with a simple and functional lighting design which ensures that visitors are welcome in a space that has the potential to become part of their future housing compound.

Continue readingThe Reverse Sunclock Wall Lamp offers a concept that focuses on bringing together two ever existent notions, that of time and light. ADD Architecture Studio designed a lighting product which bears the ambition of bringing those two together. The coexistence of a clock and a lamp in a statement of an object was the goal. The discus gradually lights off in parts like a clock would do in order to remind the user of the change of time during the day, corresponding to the different needs of direct and indirect light. The design relies on the contrast of light and shadow on the chosen materials.
